Payroll Specialist

ADP; Workforce Now | E-Time Experience Required
The Payroll Specialist processes and transmits payroll for the Management Group and its medical group clients. Includes processing of time cards, PAF's retroactive pay, lump sum payments, adjustments and manual checks. Also works closely with the Human Resources Director regarding payroll issues and confidential projects.

Description
Essential Duties of the Position:

  • Checks electronic time reports for consistency and accuracy, clarifies inconsistencies with supervisors.
  • Enters appropriate data entry information for each pay period and transmits to ADP via PC. Reconciles data entry and transmission to ADP to payroll registers.
  • Related to physician payroll, coordinates with the divisions and Academic Affairs as necessary. Physician payroll data processing through ADP.
  • Checks, reviews and inputs direct deposit enrollment applications to insure proper credit to the appropriate depository accounts.
  • Reviews payroll reports for accuracy. Distributes or maintains as appropriate.
  • Prepares and distributes departmental labor distribution reports for management review.
  • Calculates manual checks for terminated employees and emergency situations.
  • Processes garnishments, tax levies, child support payments and other payroll deductions related to wage garnishments and tax levies.
  • Remits deductions to appropriate entities. Communicates with outside agencies and employees on questions about garnishments.
  • Responds to payroll inquiries and attends to employee's needs whenever necessary.
  • Prepares monthly journal entries related to payroll
  • Prepares monthly payroll expense variance analysis
  • Performs quarterly payroll expense reconciliation between GL and payroll tax returns
  • Maintains payroll files with respect to withholdings, payroll deduction documentation and PTO accruals. Also performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma and two years of college and/or equivalent
    payroll experience
  • Minimum three years of recent technical payroll processing experience in a
    multi-company, multi-payroll, high volume environment
  • Must have outstanding customer service skills, superior time management/prioritization ability, excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literate
  • ADP Workforce Now Experience Required
  • Knowledge of current Federal and State wage and hours laws
  • Microsoft Excel and Work experience
  • Ability to multi-task while meeting hectic deadlines is a must
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and have excellent follow-up skills.
  • Strong team player is a must
  • Must be willing and able to work with all levels of employees
  • Discretion and confidentiality is a must

Compensation
Full-Time; Non-Exempt
$21/hr – $24/hr
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
